The goal of Glasgow City Innovation District (GCID) is to foster a vibrant, inclusive and respectful environment. The following community guidelines are in place for events that GCID® run, or is affiliated with, to ensure everyone has a positive experience. These guidelines apply to all participants, whether attendees, hosts, or event organisers. By participating in a GCID® event (including Glasgow Tech Week) you accept and agree to abide by the following guidelines
All participants must adhere to the principles outlined in the Strathclyde Community Commitment which emphasises kindness, respect, integrity and responsibility towards others. This commitment strives to ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
Please note that where you see behaviours falling short of the Strathclyde Community Commitment, please report this to an event organiser or member of the GCID team in the first instance. It is also possible to report to info@glasgowcityinnovationdistrict.com or submit a report via the University of Strathclyde’s “Report and Support” online reporting facility.
Should a participant be asked to stop any inappropriate behaviour, they will be expected to comply immediately.
Any events falling under the banner of Glasgow City Innovation District (including Glasgow Tech Week) will be conducted in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with all health and safety and other relevant regulations, laws and byelaws, including any relevant guidance from a competent public authority. Participants shall have due regard to any comments or guidance either GCID® or the University of Strathclyde may have in respect of working practices and risk assessments relating to events.
Where an event organiser intends to use a GCID® event to promote goods and services, no material publicising the event and no product sold or distributed at the event shall give any impression, to the effect that GCID® or the University of Strathclyde has endorsed the product. The event organiser will ensure at all times that the product is not promoted or presented in such a manner that any inference would reasonably be drawn that the product is sponsored by or linked to GCID® or the University or has GCID® or the University’s approval and will comply with any directions given by GCID® or the University to this effect. The event organiser shall not misrepresent its relationship or connection with GCID® or the University.
Participants shall not use any GCID® branding (including Glasgow Tech Week) on any part of its publicity for an event without the prior written approval of GCID.
GCID reserves the right to withdraw its support and/or branding from an event at short notice, where necessary to uphold the integrity and values of our community.
Where a participant or event organiser has, in GCID’s opinion, failed to abide by this Community Code of Conduct, then GCID® reserves the following rights:
If you have any complaints or concerns about the conduct of participants, please contact a member of the GCID ®team at info@glasgowcityinnovationdistrict.com, report them via the University of Strathclyde’s “Report and Support” facility, or (where the complaint is about GCID® or the University of Strathclyde) follow the University’s complaints procedure.
GCID® and/or the University will consider all concerns and complaints and determine whether they should be referred to participating organisations for investigation.
Your feedback is valuable in maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.
By participating in any GCID event, you accept and agree to abide by this Community Code of Conduct. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to making the Glasgow ecosystem a safe and enriching environment.
